Who operates this site

Rob Zimmerman operates rob-zimmerman.com as a personal website and portfolio. References to “the site,” “I,” “me,” or “my” in this policy refer to Rob Zimmerman and this website.

  • Information you provide. If you contact me by email, I receive the information contained in your message, such as your name, email address, and anything else you choose to share.

The site does not currently offer public user registration, online purchases, a contact form, or a newsletter signup.

Analytics and service providers

The site relies on third parties that process information in order to provide their services:

  • WordPress.com and Automattic provide website hosting, content delivery, security, and related platform services. Automattic may automatically collect server-log and usage information about visitors. Additional details are available in Automattic’s Privacy Notice for Visitors to Users’ Sites.
  • Jetpack Stats, provided by Automattic, measures page views, referring pages, outbound-link activity, and related site usage. It may process technical information such as IP address, user agent, requested and referring URLs, browser language, timestamps, and country information.
  • Google Analytics, implemented through Site Kit by Google, measures visits and interactions with the site. Google Analytics uses first-party cookies or similar identifiers and may receive page and event information, browser and device information, approximate location, and IP-address information used during collection. Google states that raw IP addresses are discarded after use rather than logged or stored in Google Analytics. Additional details are available in Google’s Privacy Policy.
  • Email providers deliver and store messages when you contact me by email.

I generally receive reports and aggregated statistics from the analytics services rather than information that directly identifies individual visitors. Service providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies and may do so in the United States or other countries where they or their vendors operate.

Sharing and sale of information

I do not knowingly sell personal information. I do not intentionally use personal information collected through this site to build advertising audiences or run targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising. Limited information is disclosed to the service providers described above so they can host, secure, operate, and measure the site.

Information may also be disclosed when required by law, legal process, or a valid government request, or when reasonably necessary to protect the site, its visitors, or another person’s rights, property, safety, or security.

Cookies and analytics choices

You can limit or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect how some parts of the site work. You can also use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on where it is available. That add-on applies to Google Analytics and does not prevent other site or analytics services from processing information.

Retention

I retain email correspondence for as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain appropriate records, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations. Technical and analytics information is retained according to the applicable provider’s practices and account settings. Google Analytics retention for user- and event-level data depends on the property configuration, and aggregated reporting may be retained longer. Provider practices and settings may change over time.

Your privacy choices and requests

Depending on applicable law, you may be entitled to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or other action concerning personal information I control. To submit a request, email hello@rob-zimmerman.com. I will respond as required by applicable law and may request information reasonably necessary to understand or verify the request.

Children’s privacy

The site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. I do not knowingly solicit personal information from children or have actual knowledge that personal information is being collected from a child under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information directly to me, please contact me so it can be addressed.

Security

I rely on WordPress.com, Automattic, and other service providers to use safeguards designed to protect information associated with the site. No website, email service, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

The site links to third-party websites and services. This policy does not govern those third parties, and I am not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies before providing personal information.
